There’s something about amethyst that always pulls us back in.
Maybe it’s the range of color — from the softest lavender to deep, inky purple. Or the way no two stones ever look quite the same. Or maybe it’s simply how it feels to wear: cool to the skin, calm, grounded, easy.
For us, amethyst isn’t a “special occasion” stone. It’s an everyday one.
A stone with depth — visually and energetically
Amethyst has long been associated with clarity, balance, and protection. Historically, it was worn as a stone of steadiness — something meant to quiet the mind and bring a sense of ease.
While we don’t design with rigid rules around symbolism, we do pay attention to how materials feel. Amethyst has a softness to it, even in its deeper tones. It never feels loud or overly precious, which makes it incredibly wearable.
It’s the kind of stone you can put on in the morning and forget about — in the best way.
Why we love working with amethyst
From a design perspective, amethyst is endlessly interesting.
Each stone has its own personality. Some lean pale and airy, others rich and saturated. Some are perfectly smooth, others slightly irregular. We often work with a mix of tones, shapes and sizes in the studio because that variation is part of the beauty.
When we’re designing with amethyst, we’re not trying to make everything match. We’re more interested in how the stones sit together — how they layer, contrast, and complement one another. That’s what gives the pieces their character.
I often start with stones that feel related in tone and cut, then vary the size a bit so the piece has movement without feeling busy.
Wearing amethyst, your way
One of the things we love most about amethyst is how adaptable it is.
It pairs easily with other gemstones for a relaxed, layered look. It works just as well alongside mixed metals. It can feel soft and understated or bold and expressive, depending on the piece and how you wear it.
We see customers style amethyst in so many different ways — stacked with everyday favorites, worn solo as a quiet statement, or layered into something more personal over time.
There’s no “right” way to wear it.
February’s birthstone — but not just for February
Amethyst is traditionally known as February’s birthstone, which gives it a special place this time of year. But we’ve never thought of it as a stone reserved for birthdays.
It’s a stone that fits into real life — the in-between moments, the everyday routines, the pieces you reach for without overthinking.
That’s why we find ourselves coming back to it year after year.
Our approach to the Amethyst Edit
For this collection, we focused on balance.
You’ll find pieces that are simple and understated, alongside designs that feel a little more expressive. We worked with a range of amethyst tones and shapes, letting each stone guide the design rather than forcing uniformity.
Every piece is made to order by hand in our California studio, just as it always has been.
If you’re curious to see how these stones took shape, you can explore the Amethyst Edit here.
Whether you’re drawn to amethyst for its meaning, its color, or simply how it feels to wear, we hope you’ll find something here that speaks to you.
And as always, if you ever have a question about a piece, styling, or choosing between options, we’re happy to help.
